About us
Specialization in physiology is offered at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. The undergraduate BSc courses focus on human physiology with particular emphasis on exercise and neurophysiology. The one-year BSc(MED)(HONS) course involves both coursework and a research project. Here students may choose to do either a molecular or a neuroscience techniques course followed by a choice of four specialist three-week modules with experts in the field and a research project. Postgraduate students can choose to register for MSc in neuroscience or MSc in physiology and subsequently PhD. The main research fields of specialization in the department include the cardiovascular system and neuroscience research, mostly animal models of human disorders and the effects of stress, aging and exercise on the brain.
