Rogue Hormone Meets its Match

It’s a baffling and avoidable heart condition that until now has gone mostly undiagnosed because it’s detected too late. Peripartum cardiomyopathy, triggered by a hormone that’s released when breastfeeding starts, affects as many as one in a thousand young mothers and 25% of them will die – unnecessarily.
