Community Eye Health Institute

We have provided eye care programmes in over 20 sub-Saharan African countries as well other WHO regions with much needed programme management training and development support since our establishment in 2008. This is done in support of the goals of the World Health Organisation's "VISION 2020: The Right to Sight" initiative.

Vision 2020: The Right to Sight, is a global strategy to eliminate avoidable blindness by the year 2020. The Vision 2020 strategy is based on three pillars, namely disease control, infrastructural development and human resource development. Over the years, CEHI has been committed to offer relevant, certified and continuous education programmes, assist in the planning and development of eye care services, on facility, district, provincial and country levels and conduct community eye health research.
