MRC/UCT Medical Imaging Research Unit

The mission of the MRC/UCT Medical Imaging Research Unit is to conduct world-class research in medical imaging that specifically addresses the healthcare needs of Africa.

Research in the unit focuses on the role of medical imaging in healthcare problems such as brain and behaviour, trauma, cancer, tuberculosis, neuromuscular disorders, cardiovascular disease, and alcohol abuse.

The unit has a multidisciplinary focus, attracting talented physicists, sports scientists, engineers, computer scientists and medical doctors.
