The Health Sciences Library, the first university medical library in South Africa, came to being in 1912 with the establishment of the Medical School of the South African College.
The library is situated at the Health Sciences Campus and serves all the divisions and departments of the Health Sciences Faculty.
The Research Commons was designed as a scholarly common room for senior postgraduate students and academics.
