For the PG CRI Group to become a sustainable, student-led, peer-to-peer mentorship programme designed to support, develop and integrate postgraduate students involved in cancer research.
To establish long-term, multidisciplinary collaborations, develop new skills and discuss novel ideas related to cancer-research within and beyond the Faculty of Health Sciences.
The Postgraduate (PG) Cancer Research Initiative (CRI) Group is a student-led platform that aims to develop long term multidisciplinary collaborations, learn new skills and discuss novel ideas. Designed as a mentorship program and with the needs of students in mind, the group offers a variety of activities to support students on their PG cancer research journey.
Topics include setting up a research database, grant writing, designing a research study, writing a peer-reviewed article or manuscript, data analysis and biostatistics.
Topics include cancer awareness and screening, research funding opportunities, career planning, student-supervisor roles and responsibilities, conference preparation, cancer policies, organisations and key role players in cancer research.
These sessions provide an opportunity for informal discussions and relationship-building across disciplines of different PG cancer researchers.
